I' m not very happy about some of the things I' ve seen here lately .....above and beyond the " Lost and Wounded" stuff. And I' m not typing this to hear myself speak.
Personal attacks, no common sense in posting, ZERO knowledge of posting rules, and overall poor ettiquette and language have flooded many of the posts lately.
I have been approached via e-mail about these issues several times in the last few days alone.
This stuff needs to stop, and stop NOW.

1. NEW MEMBERS (members that have not done so yet) Go to the upper corner of the screen and click on " RULES" Read and understand them. They will give a good understanding of what is expected of a forum member, and save you some potential grief. Your membership here isn' t a license to free speech.
I realize many of our new members are kids/teenagers. The anonymous nature of these forums makes it hard sometimes to determine a persons age/experience level......that said, you have a computer , your a member, and will be held to the same expectations and guidelines as myself.

2. " OLD" exisiting members Quit the crap, you know better. That will save YOU grief.

I will simply not allow this forum to become exactly like the many lawless and anonymous hunting/bowhunting related forum choices you have in addition to this one. I consider Huntingnet to be head and shoulders above all other forums out there, and I need YOUR help to keep it that way.
If you are here for no other reason than to cause trouble or can' t read a simple set of posting rules and actually comprehend what they say, then I will do what I can to see that you have one less forum choice to visit.

Fall is our time, so lets continue to enjoy our seasons and this forum without the distractions of poor behavior. As always I am available to discuss any issues privately if a member needs help with anything.

Seriously though, it is great to see someone stepping up to the plate. The language and personall attacks have been increasing and it just isn' t needed. Heck, most of you guys know that I use to be one of those punks who was always pushing the buttons, and where did it get me? Nowhere, so, I stopped that and have made some very good friends on here (No Matt/PA your still no my friend :D)

Seriously, I' m hoping that we can again start to police our own ranks as we have done in the past, rather than get wrapped up in personal arguments and other assorted nonsense. Thanks for the help in dishing out some " Cyber Smacks" to those who deserve them.
This stuff hasn' t been tolerated in the past and will not be in the future as well, as long as I am wearing this neat little official plastic Huntingnet Deputy badge and secret decoder ring.:D

Matt for Presedent, good job, good post buddy, has to said every now and then. One more thing, I would like to see all the ethical and do you follow this law or that law kind of posts stopped. Seems to be a main reason for some bad typeing and fuel for the anti' s.

Good post, it was getting pretty old, the thing that gets my goat is some folks always try to keep an old dispute alive with little snide remarks stuck in at times, not snide enough to really be called bashing, but just enough to throw a litlle salt in an old wound.

Matt I know I have not been around the board very long.. but I am glad you have spoke up on this issue. I have gone back and read some of the posts from way back and have noticed how the " mood" of some of the postings now are much more agressive than before. I know that people are not going to agree on everything and we each have a right to our own opinion, that is just one of many things that makes this country great!! But I do feel there is a line between opinion and agression and that line has been crossed in some posts.


I watched this board for awhile before joining and made the choice to join because I really liked the vibe I got while reading the posts! I mean there are alot of people in here who truly want to help others learn about and grow in this passion or addicition:D we call archery! I have devolped a few friendships so far and made one pretty good friend and new hunting partner (well he keeps on about me taking him to one of my stands;) ) and I look forward to making many more on here. It is great to be able to talk about different hunting styles and situations from around the country andlearn from them all. I am by no means new to hunting I have been hunting since I was around 6 and started carrying a gun when I was 8 and I am now pushing 30 ... ahh so old but yet so young lol.... But I feel I will never learn everything there is to learn and this board is a wonderful and one of the best tools I have in my aresonal besides hands on in field learning!

I am glad and proud to be associated with this board and feel lucky to be able to be a member. I think that Rick (mdbohuntr) was right in that we need to tread lightly as not to give the antis any more fuel for there fires. They do a good job of turning facts aroudn to meet there criteria so lets not help them!!


Well I did not mean to run on so long and I know that I am new so my .02 cents may not add up as much as others but figured I would put it out there anyway for what its worth!!

That' s the exact reason that I recently came to this hunting board, it seems other hunting message boards out there are nothing more than bickering posts for people, and I got tired of it. So I checked this one out and found it to be very informative and friendly, thanks for keeping it that way!

I have been a member pretty much from the beginning of this Forum back in 2000.
Its def changed with some of the comments coming from some. I especialy dislike the bashing of those who take the time to share a bad expierience in the field with an animal. The elitism in the bashers threads is sickening. I personaly like to hear the wounding stories, Maybe I/we can learn something from thier mistakes

I think you replied by accident to this post.......what you want to do is start a " New Post" probably in the " Deer Hunting" forum . You can choose different forums by usingthe drop down menu at the bottom of the page.

Also do me a favor and read the posting rules while you are at it.;):) You can click the link in th eupper right corner of the screen that says " rules" That will be helpful.

despite some shortcoming, mentioned by Mat, this is great and very informative forum, I learnt a lot since I joined it couple of months ago.
This forum gives me the opportunity to get advice from experienced and knowlegable hunters, I hope it will prosper for years to come.
I' m glad to see moderator taking the initiative to keep this forum at the level it was ment to be.

I don' t post a lot here for the one reason that I am not new to hunting but do not know all I should & when I have asked questions on other boards (not this one) the replies I got made me look like I was the stupidest hunter there & I got fed up getting put down. The one reason I like this forum is because this does not happen here a lot. I read most of the posts & have learned a lot from all of you & I am greatful for that.

As someone that holds a lot of views about archery and bowhunting that don' t mesh real well with those of the masses these days, I get my share of blastings, flames and the occasional e-mailed offer to get my rear kicked. (They might think twice about that if they ever saw me. LOL) But, I think my alternative views are important and could help a lot of people that are struggling with the ' standard' modern setup. Too bad there are some that see those alternatives as a threat to Mom, apple pie and the American way.[:' (]

I TRY to be respectful when the flamethrowers come out but, unfortunately, I' ve got a good bit of old time West Texas redneck in me. When I' m hit, I tend to hit back harder.
