What a great buck. With a green score of 322(I think), it is 2X' s a buck of a lifetime. Question is....if you had it front of you with a bow at 20 yards....could you shoot? LOL I sure would like the chance to know for myself, but I don' t know for sure. I might be peeing down my leg.

SHAZAAM!! Those pictures are something else. That is/was one bad dude. Absolutely astounding. Being lucky is better than skill any day.

Great story, great buck. I' m glad it was a local kid and not a " company" hunting team member that killed it.
As for complaining that its going to turn into some type of marketing tools, so what? The more good press good hunting stories get, the better. Money and positive stories about the success of a red-bloodied young American can keep the hunting industry protected from the masses of non-hunters and pockets of anti' s.

The hunters are doing the right thing by waiting to make this public. I' m sure they have spoken to a lawyer and will do this right. You guys remember Rompola? There is alot at stake with this " record" . It is disgusting that one has to" line up his ducks in a row" but nowadays it is a must. Remeber Zaft?
There is not a hunter here who would turn down the opportunity to make some money that you never had..Except for Rompola.
I am looking forward to the story and the pictures.

Why can' t we forget Zaft, he fits in a category with Rompola. Tried to put one over and got caught by P&Y, and they had a gracious way out by rescoring it. His story was filled with holes. He simply found the deer that he is claiming. Wolves and coyotes killed the deer that he tried to claim as a world record. Unfortunately he is still making money from it. This story from Iowa is great and the young shooter deserves all he can get from it.

Congrats goes out to this kid
MY sympathy goes out to because he is and will be ridiculed, and because he will have to soon come to grips with the reality that this is likely the biggest buck he will ever see let alone shoot.......it would be interesting to know if he is still hunting in 10 yrs.
And as far as Zaft goes, unless you were there when he found the buck and helped him make up his story how do you know for sure that you have the story right.........i may not have heard enough info on this story but what i have heard has just been negative suggestions no strong facts......IMO[:-]

In my book that kid deserves that money a lot more than any of the pros out there, they have there money and they are not what hunting is about. Hunting is about folks like us on this board, average joes who hunt, we don' t pay big bucks to hunt preserves and ranches, we hunt to hunt, just like this kid. I am ecstatic for him and hope he makes a mint of of this buck! Any one here or anywhere else that says they wouldn' t take every dime thrown there way is a liar, a jealous liar!

Thats not the buck pictured above. I do have a picture of it but don' t know how to post it. It is too large to upload. This thing is a freak. not typical in the least.

That freak in velvet buck you talk about is another buck - not the world record
