Starting to look up for the opener....

Anyone hunt around New Martinsville, Proctor or Moundsville if so what kinda buck activitly are you seeing? rubs? scrapes?

Here in central WV, the bucks were sparring last week, and rubs are becoming more apparent. But I haven' t found any scrapes, or much rutting activeity. Looks like it will be the last of the month, or the first of November before the rut kicks in.

Weird, cause a few weeks ago it was really cold durning the day, and frosting for about three consecutive days. I thought the rut was going to be here for the opening week...guess the screwy weather messed that up.

Looking pretty good for opening day....I could have delt with a high of 55 or lower though. Oh well....60 is better then the 74 that opened squrriel season.
