Default Did my doe spoil?

Here' s the scenerio. I shot and hit a doe Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. The sign was not very encouraging so we backed off to wait for morning. It was around 55 degrees when I shot her, it got down to 47 degrees over night. I recovered her the next day (Thursday morning) at around 10:30 AM. I had her quartered and in the freezer by 12:00 PM. It was around 55 degrees when I recovered her about 15 hours after the hit. The hit caught some of the stomach so the oder was terrible. Is the meat edible?

most likely yes. (the meat is fine) You don' t know exactly when she died overnight, it was pretty cool. I let my buck go overnight last season in very similar temps, maybe a little cooler, and it was fine. It also had been hit a little in the guts from an angled shot.

I think the meat would be just fine.

Should be fine ,just cut away any discolored or tainted meat adjacent to the shot, Might loose a little near the butt also but the rest should be good. Nice job on recovering it.
