As mentioned....a Grunt Call,Fawn/Doe Call and the little "Can" Caller is about all that's needed and use them sparingly.I have a pair of real Deer Antlers for "Rattling" and it has only did any good a few times! Some times Simple & Light is the way to go!

I use calls everytime I hunt, the call I use is dictated by the time of year.. I have been using deer calls since the early 70s, the first call I ever used uas the called "the original Indian deer call" which was a bleat style call..

So to answer your question... No I don't hunt without calls..

The doe population should not really change the effectiveness of rattling unless your doing it the wrong time of the year.
