Well, it' s over for us in Colorado. Archery season ended Sunday. Neither my husband or I tagged anything. Really wonder if all the deer got shot out last year due to the high hunter concentration in our area caused by loss of hunting land in the Hayman fire, or if it was because of the drought. Game warden said there was a very small success rate for archers this year. We certainly didn' t see much game. We might have seen 6 deer in a month long season. Wish all of you out there lots of luck with your hunting seasons!!

Wow, your season is over already? Mine hasn' t even begun yet. Ohios archery is from Oct. 4th thru Jan. 31st. We have nearly 4 months of archery. How long is your season?

I guess I live in the wrong state Cardeer! Everyone thinks Colorado is a great place to hunt, but we only get 1 deer unless you want to tag something with CWD in the epidemic units, we are allowed to shoot 1 bull elk and I think up to two cows now, and archery season for most units is only a month long with muzzleloader and rifle bear right in the middle of it.[:@] As far as the CWD goes I am thankful that people are culling the herds, but I' m not willing to risk my family' s health on Colorado' s testing results. They even tell you that it isn' t 100% reliable.
Yeah, I know I' m whining! It is beautiful and there are several species of big game to hunt, but sometimes it is hard to remember that when you just aren' t seeing the game you used to. And of course I have yet to take a deer home after 4 yrs. of trying so that made me a little grumpy. By next season I' ll be rip roarin' ready to go again!! All you guys that have long seasons and get to take multiple animals should feel blessed! Go get ' em!

I guess I' m even more glad that I live here. Certainly not to rub it in, but I saw 10 deer opening morning(roughly 6:30 till 9:00). I hope things turn around for you guys/ladies out there.
