Default Who stops their deer for the shot ????

As seen in videos like the Primos series - who makes some sort of ' Maaaahhh' or grunt sound to bring a walking animal to a stop before taking your shot ??

I personally do not. I like the total surprise thing I guess, and have been afraid to spook the animal..........

I am really interested to hear everyones responses.

I do. I make a sort of grunt with my mouth then shoot once the deer stops. I have never had a deer spook when I have done this.

I always MAAAAA them if they are moving quickly with purpose - usually with just my mouth - If you wait for them to stop in this case - they are out of range and its too late.

If they are out of range - I' ll try a grunt call to get them to " swing by" a little closer.

In both cases - I utter a quick - less than one second - Grunt/bleat of sorts - so the deer cannot " fix on" my position.

If the deer is slowly moving through - picking along, maybe browsing - I' ll never make a peep.

Not exactly bow hunting, but once during shotgun i had a buck running away from me in the woods as i was headed to my stand, and he was just about to exit the woods and i wouldnt have had a shot, so i whistled as loud as i could and shot, lets just say i didnt make it to my stand that afternoon

Typically only if they are moving at a good clip. But it is usually a soft ehhhhh and then release a split second later. Haven' t had any spook on me yet, not that I would really know though, they are usually running with a hole in them!
