I had one stolen last year and know how you feel. I just retrieved my new one and lo and behold it contained a picture of a bow hunter carring a tree stand and looking right at the camera. No one is supposed to be there except me and have never seen anyone in there but you can rest assured, I will never leave anything in there now.

I have 2 cameras. A moultrie junker, and a Steatlh. Both I drilled 2 holes into the back of the camera housing. The Moultrie has a metal plate. I then screwd them into the tree. The stealth has only a plastic housing, and a belt type strap to fasten to the tree. I cut out a piece of metal and ran it through the belt like loops. I then put screws through the housing and metal piece on the Stealth. Both are also chained & padlocked. It may not totally stop someone, but they are going to need bolt cutters, and a screw driver to get them.

deer hunter, photo scout makes a chain attachment to chain the camera to the tree. but trust me, if someone really wants it, they will cut the chain or cable. chains and cables only make the honest fellow more honest.

You cant leave nothing in the woods up here even right behind my house. They steal everything or destroy it. I had treestands shot in to,groundblinds slashed, stolen and thrown out on the highway.

UPDATE: The guy has not contacted me. I' m pretty bummed but am trying to make the most of it (I have his stand setup right now). I didn' t think that he would try and contact me cause I made it clear that he would be off the land. Maybe i shouldn' t have done that because now he' s probably still out there on the land and I can' t get to him. [:@]
I guess I' ll just have to go get another one [>:]

This is the exact reason I do not have a camera, I was thinking of getting acamera from walmart a cheap one 70 bucks [I hear they work good] Myself
and my 2 sons hunt gun hunt on forestry mng land and have been for yrs
anybody can hunt this area. since I took up bow hunting I leave stands up through
bow & gun season, cheap ones 40 bucks a piece but I do lock them down though.
My one son decided he would be getting into bow hunting this yr so after gun season last yr he left his older but exspensive ladder stand out in the woods
for the bow season with out being locked up this stand had a 3x4 ft 3/4" plywood top a seperate chain on swivel seat the stand was put together with bolts and
weighed about 75# got stolen there where atv tracks going up to where his stand use to be got his nice stand stolen from a person who can afford a 4- wheeler
and my son cant going to school to be a DNR taking police science right know.
That sucks, so I figure why give a thief 70 dollar camera. Thier are some
reall as---ho--- in this world.
