Chemical suits?
#1
I need help finding a link to buy the military surplus carbon-lined outfits in camo to use for bowhunting.
Last year my hunting partner bought one. Actually he bought two, they come two to a pack, sealed in plastic. Cost about $40 for two complete outfits..pants and shirt.
I examined the clothing and found that it is every bit as good as Scentlok or the outfits from Robinson Laboratories.
I am ready to order but can' t find them on the net.
Anyone have a link?

When you get to the homepage use the keyword search bar to the left . Type in " chemical suits" , this will take you to several choices , British DPM , Olive Drab , and Woodland Camo . They are currently sold out of Woodland , but I' ve used the British DPM and it works just as well . They cost $15 for one set . [8D]

Just a note, if you wear the miltary chemical suits in the rain the charcoal will probably bleed into the clothes you were wearing underneath. I have seen it happen, makes a mess. I agree have heard they work good.

In their catalog they have military chemical suits for $19.97. They offer them in Camo and Green as well. Both are the same price. Lots of Fun " crap" in this catalog.

Being in the military and wearing those damn suits, I can tell you that they are only effective for a few weeks. They may hold your scent for a bit longer then that, but I don' t know of any test that says otherwise. The best cover scent I found is to stand in camp fire smoke. I have personally seen that it works just as well as all that " scent loc" stuff. We had a 57" spread bull moose walk in on us as well as a grizzly without breaking stride, and you know how well a bear' s sense of smell is. I know that E-bay sells them and most pawn shops if your are really wanting one.

Exactly Denis ,
that' s why I donate my used ones after the hunting season . They aren' t permanent , but can provide reasonable scent control for about 2 weeks from my experience . The last buck I shot at was about 20 yds from me while I was wearing a suit that hadn' t been rinsed out since I prepared it for the season(2 weeks) . The wind was in his favor , so I' d have to say the suit had some effect in that case .
I do descent as much as possible before going out , and I dress in the field to avoid contaminating my hunting clothes .
