Curious if at the Harrisburg show you were talking w/a Bowtech dealer, or Bowtech themselves?

Twig,

He was a dealer... But he' s not a BowTech dealer anymore...

I can assure you all, BowTech tries to make everyone happy with their products and service after the sale as well. You and I both know that it' s impossible to make everyone happy all the time but for the most part they try to.

bentbarrel, I' m glad to hear you' re happy with your bow. I' m hunting with a 2003 Patriot SC myself this year... I can' t wait to put a Montec G5 through the lungs of a big one with it...

Matt/Pa had very good success with his brandy new 2002 Patriot (with it' s shipping box cover scent) last year...

Thanks JeffB. I appreciate that. I' ve always enjoyed your long-winded reviews and expert commentary. You are one of the experts on this forum IMO.

Slientassassin...wonder if we know each other. There' s one place in Memphrica where a lot of bowtech shooters hang out and act like they know what they' re doing...I' m one of the ones acting like I meant to hit the bullseye. You hang out up there?

Longwinded.......yep he' s got Jeff pegged!

Bent,
Glad you like the bow so much! I' m one of the many " BowTech Shooters" not the original but A Bowtech Shooter nonetheless.
I have been shooting them for 3 seasons now and couldn' t be happier.
Bows are great, company is great (And approachable as you' ve seen)

Twig,
Pat' s right about that BowTech dealer at the Harrisburg Show.........he' s not a dealer anymore I think in part to exactly what you just described.
Too bad that was your buddy' s first exposure to the company, because I have gotten nothing but first class treatment from guys like Pat and others at the company directly.

I haven' t shot a thing (Other than targets) with my new Patirot Dually and I' m anxious to see the 2004' s already! I' m terrible, you should hear how many times my wife repeats " You' re telling me that you NEED that!?" over the course of a season.........season what season, I mean all year. I know she isn' t buying it but she' s a good wife.[:-]

If you ever need anything BowTech related feel free to drop me a line, I' m no expert or " Company Man" like Pat but I have been shooting them pretty exclusively for 3 seasons now so if I can help I will.
Good Luck with the new bow!

Oh and Pat eluded to my " Carboard Shipping Box" cover scent.........works like a charm Had the bow out of the box, tuned sighted in and dropped a buck exactly 18 hours later! [8D] That deer just had the look of.........." HMmmm I smell, CARDBOARD?"

Glad you like your Pat SC, that is one sweet shooting bow.

I have a MightyMite, which, I picked up partially due to Matt/Pa, well, that along with how great it shoots. I did have a problem with it, and boy was I hard on the bow, you know, blamming it instead of myself, but, that is taken care of and I couldn' t be happier AGAIN!!!!!

Heck, my friend was going to get his bow tuned up by the tech guy from the shop where I bought my bow (the shop closed, and he offered to tune my bestfriends bow for free, even though he didn' t get it from that pro-shop), well, my friend didn' t get his bow tuned, actually, he decided that he wanted to make sure he wanted the bow. Well, 4 hours later, we were back and my friend was getting his brand spankin new Extreme VFT tuned up. That night, he was getting 1" groups at 30 yards.

I don' t plan on getting rid of the MightyMite, but, man, I am anticipating the 2004 line-up. Who knows, maybe another BowTech is in-store for Buck Magnet

I agree with everyone else Bowtechs are great the bow and their people. For example my husband had to go from shooting a 2000 Extreme Short Draw at 70lb. to one at 50lb because of a bad shoulder injury. Because the dealer we bought his bow from originally, had gone out of business we didn' t know where to go. We contacted Bowtech headquarters they offered to replace his 70lb limbs with 50lb ones and set the bow back up to factory specs at very little cost to us.

I like my tomcat, but have been looking at the extreme SC VFTs. How fast can I expect a 375 grain arrow with a 29 inch draw @ 70lbs on the new VFT?

I too have just recently joined the Bowtech family. Over from the Darkside. I bought the 03 Patriot SC also and I love it. Question though. Which rest are you using? I had a MZE on my Mathews and put it on the Pat, I haven' t been able to avoid the fletching rub. I contacted Muzzy, Great folks there, and they tod me they were having problems with the Bowtechs and this rest due to the shorter cable travel these bows produce. I have spoken with Jessie Morehead there several times and have narrowed it down to the fact the bow is faster than the rest. Speed combined with the shorter brace height. The solution I am trying is kind of radical, but I believe it will work. Since I am using the drop away I am going to shorten the fletchings to 2.5 inchers and put 6 on each arrow. I made up 2 of them tonight and they look cool. This should give the hook time to get the hell out of the way! I haven' t shot them yet, hopefully tomorrow. If your interested let me know and I' ll post results and pic of the arrows if you want.

Don' t leave me out. I have nothing but good luck with my BowTechs. The company is great when assistance is needed. Matt PA put me on to them a while back. Now I know all the usual suspects.[] Good luck with yours, bentbarrel.
