I HATE HURRICANES!!!!!!! Yesterday was a big dissappointmant, when I scouted this place out there were several places on this guys property where the deer were crossing the railroad tracks and then one heavily traveled trail running parrelel to the tracks, well I get down in there and no sooner do I get on his property then I discover that a ton of trees have blown down all over the trail and the crossings!!!! There was one crossing that was not blocked, that lead to the unblocked portion of the trail, so I figured, I' m here I may as well set up. The wind was right and I set up a really nice blind. Well the deer are now crossing about 100 yards to the east of where they used to which of course is about 75 yards outside of this guys property! Oh well, it was still nice just being in the woods and watching the occasional train go by and I did get to see some doe.

eng40sqd getting together for a hunt sounds good, let me know when and where and I will try and work it out. The twins right now are observers, next year they will start gun hunting and maybe the following year start bow hunting. They come (one at a time) and sit on stand with me sometimes and do very well.

Taz.. I am sorry to hear that your spot was no longer a spot, but hey atleast you go to be out in the woods (even if they were leaning the wrong way now) and see some deer.. I am going to try to go check my spots the next few days to see what they look like now.. my sons are the same.. they go as observers right now.. they are 5 and 7 and usually go one at a time... they are pretty good most of the time about being still but they have fidget days too... but I think we all do!!

Taz - sorry to hear of your bad luck. Like you said, at least you got to be out there and at least you saw a few does. I went out Sat. am, but I got winded by 2 deer downwind at 50 yds. I left early since it was hot as heck.

You know I have come to learn over the years that things going wrong during a hunt or changing in an area you hunt is another part of hunting. Not my favorite though!
