I just got back from cabelas last night with a brand new Summit Broadhead backpacker series. I tried it today and liked it a lot. I have a few questions and also need some suggestions. First of all what did you guys do to your stand to quiet anything needed. Also when they say to climb w/the safety strap away from your neck, how is that possible. The harness comes up from your back and around your neck to the tree? Any other tips or tricks would be greatly appriciated. I had a few more q' s but i forgot if i remember Ill post them later. If anybody reads this that is looking for a climber I would recommend this climber. I have only used it once and already love it. The backpacker model is very quiet/compact I like it a lot.

I just got back from climbing again and all went well. Except that darn safety strap comes around tight on the back of your head/neck and kind of strains it. It is really getting annoying having that thing in my face hurting my neck. Anybody figure out a way to solve this? Also i remembered one of the questions I was going to ask. What is the best way to put that cable around the tree? Its kind of hard and i was wondering if anyoe had any tips.

i have a viper xls which i got last year. i love it. as far as the saftely belt issue, with my experience with it, it can' t go anywhere besides next to your neck while climbing up the tree. kinda annoying but not hurting my neck like you said, just rubbing on my collar thats all. do you have it connected to the end of the black rope that goes around the tree? for the cable around the tree. i hold the stand with one hand and rest it on my knee, then unhook the one side of the cable and basically whip it around the tree then catch it and hook it up. then i put the top part on the stand on the bottom section and just reach around and grap the cable. hope you understood this, easier to show then explain i guess.

Nuge I have a summit bushmaster, the way that I quieted it down was by squirting in some great stuff expandable foam into the hollow structure. It worked great. The full body harnesses pretty much all do what you ae saying.Bill D>
