Slightly disappointed in Stealth Cam pics
#11
Don' t feel bad Troy. After two successful weekends of buck pics with the stealth cam I ran out of luck this past weekend. I put it in one of the places I had planned on using as an evening spot with plenty of sign...rubs, trails, etc......and after sitting out since Friday night there were absolutely no pictures taken. I moved it to a new location last night.
Rob,
I think you have already figured out the reason for your disappointment and it does not really seem to lie with the camera itself but rather its positioning in relation to the " activation area" and the film developing. I have not run into these issues yet but then again I might have gotten lucky the first couple times I used it. What I try to do when I set mine up is to mount it so that the edge of the activation range is right along the trail or spot that I expect the deer to be at. That seems to give the deer the opportunity to stand fully in front of the camera before the picture is taken.
Good luck with the next set of pics. I hope to post the two that I got from last weekend shortly.
