Me and my wife along with the only other person who has permission to hunt our property all went hunting tonight. My wife was just watching and she just sat in a ground blind in the front field. The land owner just recently purchased the neighboring 20+ acres which both myself and the other hunter have always wanted to hunt. The property litterally has at least 5 known stands from the hunters who have since been told to remove them.I took my climber and set up over the third of four connecting fields while the other hunter sat about 250 yards directly east of me in the second field in a texas style tri pod non the less. Around 5 pm I llok to my left and there is a nice buck which appears to be possibly working his way down the creek line towards my set. Almost immediately after I see the buck the other hunter starts grunting at the buck . The buck at first didnt pay any attention to the grunts but the other hunter grunted for nearly five minutes consecutive finally the buck began to swell a little and made his way across the field . The deer looked pretty far from the wood line but then he stopped. Shortly there after I heard the sound of the other hunters bow go off and seen the buck bound off he looked like he was not hit. The hunt continued on and I seen 4 or 5 other deer all to far off of course. I get down at dark thirty and hear my wife talking to the other hunter and he said he killed the buck. At this time Im like you got to be kidding me . We picked up the blood and the deer was about 20 yards inside the woods and it was a murder scene. The shot was at 70 yds! He smoked the deer in the neck cutting the juggular.The crazy thing was actually watching the entire event unfold. Leaves me wondering if he wasnt there tonight if he would have made it down to me? The other crazy thing was my wife was actually was the first to see the buck which was a nice 9 point. The buck came out about 40yds in front off her and made his way to 5 yds in front of the ground blind . She kept telling me how she would have smoked him lol. O well at least the other hunter is a pretty nice guy and if you have to share your woods with someone I dont mind it being him so Good Job on your buck John.
