Default Bowhunting food plots

This may have been asked before and if so I apologize. When bowhunting food plots and it gets dark what methods do you use to get the deer out of there without alerting them to your presence? What I do is wait until its completely dark and use a coyote howler to make them leave. It doesn't seem to scare the daylights out of them, but they will leave. Then I climb down as quietly as I can and leave without using a flashlight. I was wondering what other hunters do and if there is a better way that what I do now.

sounds like a good idea with the wolf thing. i usually jump in the creek bed and walk out to the road, peering up out the creek now and then to see whats hanging out after hours
