Double Flash on ' 03 Camtrakker??
Anyone else have a ' 03 Camtrakker? Ours gives a
double flash when it takes a picture[:@], our ' 01
model does not. My brother and I just noticed it
today when putting it out in a new location.
I will contact Camtrakker, but thought I' d check
here also. As you can see from this pic, it' s
not something that you want your camera doing[>:].
This does give a little insight on how some deer
react to the flash...

Interesting...unless your there to watch, you don' t know how they react because the picture is done and who know' s what the deer do.....unless it' s the double thing that spooks them....
Some camera' s have that redeye flash that comes on prior to the actual flash for the pic, could that be the case....

Rob,
I think you' re right about the ' double flash' being
for red eye reduction, but I will find out for sure.
I' ll be interested to hear their response. For sure,
not an option you want on a ' game camera' .

Red eye reduction is usually an option that can be shut off. But I am not 100% sure. Good luck with getting it off, escpecially if it has that effect on the critters.

I made the mistake of having the redeye reduction ON on my setup the last time out. It was obvious from the pics that it made the deer more nervous and jumpy.
Sounds like you just need to shut it off. Most cameras show a symbol of an eye on the display when this feature is on.

It sounds to me as if maybe you have that cam programed to take more than one photo as it is set off, mine will snap 1-9 depending on its settings, I am just assuming this based on the fact that you have a pic of the deer running away, does the first flash not take a pic?

Ben,
It is not taking double pictures...just two flashes.
This was the only picture of these two bucks, in
fact, it was the only picture taken on that day.
