Me and my dad are heading to Kentucky the first of September on a velvet bow hunt. Can anyone tell what to expect this time of year as far how the hunting is. Thanks

i could take a guess for you. pretty warm. deer are probably still going to be on there summer feeding habits so they'll come out real early, and disapear as soon as the heat comes, and probably come out pretty close to dark. hunt there man food source/water and trails to them.

September is a good time to pattern bucks as they are still on a feeding pattern. However due to lack of rain and ponds drying up deer are moving out of areas lacking in water. We have one farm ther went from 5 photos a day of deer down to maybe 1 photo every other day. This year water will play a major roll unless we start getting rain.
