I wouldn' t mind a one buck limit, as long as I could take 4 or 5 Does along with that.

Of course, then I' d be pretty upset if I shot a 6 pointer on opening day and a few days later see a 12 point new record standing there and I couldn' t shoot it.

Toytaco, I think its because the majority of bucks taken each year are very young and we' d all like to see a more mature herd.

i' d be in favor of a 2 buck limit even an earn a buck rule and keep the bag limit the same.

I don' t think the state of OK has a shortage of bucks, therefore, I' d rather see an antler restriction rather than decreased back limits. I would be nice if they would go ahead and increase the doe limit.

I wouldn' t have a problem with a one buck rule, but, I do wonder how much impact it would have since (IMO) a large percentage of our bucks are taken by muzzle loaders and rifles who take only their buck and do not take advantage of the opportunity to take a doe also. The " earn a buck" plan is new to me but it sounds like it could have potential to help balance the herd.

As far as Texas is concerned, I hope we never get to that point in Oklahoma where almost all good hunting opportunities are on high dollar ranches and leases even if it means smaller numbers of " trophy" deer.

I think if you want to build the buck population they might as well go all the way. Give them some restrictions and protect the younger. I don' t like " Earn a buck" per say, but think the idea of less bucks and more does is good. I' d just hate to have to pass a monster 10 because I hadn' t shot a doe yet. Let me decide when to shoot the buck if it' s going to be ONLY ONE. Does are easy. You can whack them anytime.

i dont want to pass up a heavy bodied buck because his antlers dont add up,with earn a buck the hunter gets more time to be in the stand checking out the bucks yeah i' d hate to pass up a ten point, but having to wait until you shoot a doe some hunters might hold off on the smaller bucks that they would have shot because it was the first deer they seen and hope for the 10 point to walk back by.oklahoma wants hunters to take does.
