It is more of a personal thing that you have to decide on your own.
I will try to hunt for a buck only in archery season, only because I don't
find it hard to shoot a doe in rifle season where I hunt.If I were after just some deer meat, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a fat doe first.

A few things come to mind with this topic:
What part of the season are we in? If its bow, i wait on the Buck of all time.....if its during gun....depends on the size of the doe.....becasue i can go back to bow hunting after gun.......
How many days left to hunt? I love deer meat, and take one each year...however i do holdout for that monster buck for as long as i can. I usally trial one big buck to see if i can nab him.......
Its more of a personal thing for each hunter and thier own value of hunting..
The outdoors is yours, treat it with RESPECT!!!

Depends if you're a meat hunter or go morso for the rack... I pass on the smaller bucks, but don't pass on the big ones for a doe, like a lot of other people.

What ever floats your boat. They all taste good to some of us. It's a bit easier to come by a doe than it is a buck so I classify them as "I can get one when I want". Well....... I've been wanting for about a month now. Stuff happens.<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle> I've shot some other so it's OK if the end of the season comes Thursday and I haven't done it. I have meat in the freezer. I just wanted a little more. I guess I gave too many away and let too many pass when the pickings were easy.

we have 2 seasons where i live. the early season this year i passed up around 50 does and 5 small bucks. i seen a couple of shooter bucks but the shot was just not there. then comes the late season its after the rut and alot of snow. that season for me is the meat season , i shot a doe the 3 rd day of the season and am happy to have her. i usuall pass on the does early just to increase my time spent in the feild. anyday out huntin is much better then watchin football.

I hunt for bucks because thats all you can hunt unless you draw a special tag for a doe . They only issue a certain amount of doe tags and not everyone gets one .
