Well, its about that time of year again, and I am looking for your stories of having to deal with anti-hunters! Again, this is one segment that I am looking forward to putting together.
Several years ago, while hunting deer in the mid-west, I was sitting on my stand on opening morning, it was about 10:00 in the morning, when I first noticed the sirens on the highway just east of my hunting stand, the siren seemed not to move but was stationary. This went on for a half hour, I was getting worried with no movement of the ambulance. I found out later that anti-hunters spiked the road used mostly by hunters and thank goodness no one died, what is so ironic that this ambulance was getting a hunter who was shot, these people are scary and will stop at nothing to stop us from enjoying the outdoors..send your stories to [email protected]

Ive been lucky. Ive never had anything really radical like that happen. I had a lady ask me one time if i was a hunter in 7-eleven. I was wearing all my hunting clothes and had takin a nice doe that morning. I said," yes mam" She then said that she didnt know how anyone could kill those poor animals. and i said," Well mam, the needy families that are getting ready to recieve the doe i got this morning sure dont care." The look on her face was priceless. The girl behind the counter started dying laughing. Other than that, ive only had friends and stuff from school ask me, but nothing really bad.

It takes a lot of guts to come to the area where we hunt; Army Tanks would shudder on the roads we travel. So far we have not been bothered by these radical extremests.

I will wait for one week then I will say what I am thinking. You need to read this message board, there is a topic you need to respond to. If there is no answer it will be bad...very bad.

you really cant win an argument with these type people . i would be polite and walk away from them. if they violate the law call the authorities. i had a friend who had there tires spiked and lug nuts loosened. BE CAREFUL!

Hmmm....outdoor i have a hard time believing an animal rights activist would go to the measure of hurting someone else for the sake of saving anothers/animals life. It doesnt really make sense.... Im from IL and i have never had to deal with them...i' ve also hunted across the country in several states. I think its just liberal discernment and i think that we as hunters blow it out of porportion because we are apprehensive about the whole thing....Regardless we are all products of our own environment....shalom
