anybody else shoot with their pinky rested on
 

your stabilizer? I started this last year, and it seems to work for me. I can steady my bow better with my little finger rested against my stabilizer. anybody else shoot this way?

I have a team member I shoot leagues with who does that. If he ever starts to consistantly beat me, perhaps I' ll give it a try. :D

I did when I switched to a Bowtech last year and lost 6 inches of ATA. It helped me quite a bit in the torque department. As I have gotten used to the shorter bow I no longer do it.

I doubt if I could even force myself to do that, I shoot open handed, I know there is a new school of thought out there that a loose handed grip is the best way to go, but I will be honest I don' t think I could retrain myself to even do that. You have heard the old saying about teaching an old dog new tricks, well I am an old dog!;)

I' m with you Tazman. Have always shot open handed. I usually wear a jersey glove so my hand can slide easily into place instead of sticking and hanging up when sweaty, etc.

I used to do that on my old deflexed riser bows. They' d shoot every arrow into the same hole without much concern about how you gripped them, unless you really messed up.

This new stuff though... I had to start curling my little finger and ring finger up into my palm and using a loose hold to get any kind of accuracy.

I' ve done it in the past, but I don' t do it anymore. Don' t really know why I stopped. I shot very well like that....I shoot very well without too!:D

I did it for awhile and this girl I was shooting with said I looked like a ****** with my pinky sticking out there and everyone had a good laugh but I quit doing it. It' s amazing that a little ol pinky stuck out can transform a 6' 3" , 300 pound man with a 56 inch chest into a ****** looking individual.:)
