Default hows this stand sound

hey folks,

just decided to go find a new stand site today hows it sound?

....... i hunt in a wooded river area.... in southwestern minnesota.... wheres there no big rivers... just little ones and cricks.... these are main areas for deer....besides slews... but along my river theres a filter strip of crp along one side for about 500 yards and theres beans on both sides of the river.... about 150 yards from the road... where this filter strip starts is a bedding area... i already knew it was there so i steered clear when i went out today.... the deer tend to cross the road and travel the trees untill they come to this area... well i found a tree that is straight enough for my rivers edge climber... and i cleared some branches so i could get about 15 feet up in the air... the bedding area is almost straight out in front of me when sitting in this stand if not a little to the right... the wind is dominatley west in the fall and winter... and this river runs east to west... i' m looking into a army surplus scent locking suite... for the early season for sure.... the wind usually comes from the south then... theres 2 trails... one through teh middle of the bedding area and one right along the edge of the trees.... not many trails in the trees but i have a couple small opening to shoot through so no problems there.... i guess that bout asw best as i can describe it so tell me whatcha think... i know i can improve on it... but it doesn' t have to be THAT great... its to make sure i don' t over use my best stand.... just insurance i guess.... thanks for the time[:-] and does anyone know why my signature doesn' t show up???[:' (]

Sounds good. The wind is going to be the key as always. If the bedding area is a core area I wouldn' t get in too close.
Good Luck!

sounds good to me

and sounds like you have pretty much figured in all the factors (trails, beds, wind, food, ect)

it definitly sounds like a place to try anyway

good luck
