Default Dry Fire

My buddy accidentally dry fired my bow. It broke the string damper. I know that a lot of shops say "You Dry Fire, You Buy It". I know it is a bad thing but what are the consequences to dry firing a bow?

all the energy that is produced and released into the arrow when fired normally is now absorbed back into the bow.

take it to a shop and have them go over it. Damage can be done to the limbs, the cam and other parts.

you need to take it in to a reputable pro shop and have it looked over, you don't want it blowing up in your face because there was a hairline crack you didn't see.

It always a buddy, one of mine did it as well.

Created a hairline fracture at the limb split, you could only see it at full draw.
This was an older bow though, newer bows can probably handle a dry fire or 2.
Still get it checked out.
