Default Leather Strope??

Does anyone use leather to put final edge on their broadheads??

I was looking at a TrueAngle leather strope on ebay and wondering if it worked good or not for cut on contact heads??

Anyone know where I could buy one??

Personally, I have used them in the past, but no longer use them anymore on two sided blades. I was finding that there is a point where the metal will break down and start to chip when totally removing the bevel. I finish up sharpening edges by gently (without much pressure) passing them over a fine grit diamond stone. I think that a strope would be useful on a one sided edge, like a Grizzly head.

I' ve not used one on broadhead but I do on my knives. You can get one from some mail order sites, but they are expensive. Do you have any shoe repair shops, or a saddle shop locally? If you do, tell them you need a small piece of oil tanned leather, or harness leather. Will work as good as a strop and they will likely give it to you.

I use my boots to strope my knifes and single edged broadheads. Seems to work fine.
