Default stabilizers?

I have used a stabilizer very little. I just came from my pro shop where I tried several out and could tell little if any difference when comparing them to my bow with no stabilizer. I am shooting a hoyt aspen which is a relatively slow bow with a long axle to axle length. I was looking to perhaps lower any noise a bit but ending up not buying anything. Any thoughts on this issure would be appreciated. I have been told that my bow does not make that much noise but I have been very concerned about noise every since a big deer jumped string on me.
