#1
me and a friend saw 2 huge bucks las nite. we figured the 1 was well over 20 inches wide and had atleast 8 inch tines or bigger. but we seen him in a crp feild and he was walkin in some cattails. they got lots of trails in there. a ways back there is a lone tree in the slough but i dont think thats a good spot for a tree stand. so i was thinkin bout puttin a tri pod on the edge of the crp and right on the edge of the cattails. that should give me a good 20 or so yrd shot. do i wana put it that close to the trail and what are the chances that he will see me draw back in a tri pod? thnks

The chances of a mature buck using that same travel route after sticking a tripod up out in the open this late in the year aren' t good. I' d be getting my duck hunting camo out and looking to set up a ground blind in the cattails. The only chance you have at drawing out in the open from a tripod is when and if the buck turns his head in the opposite direction. Pay attention to when the deer comes out there and what direction the wind is from and go from there.
