Default Reuse arrows?

Is it safe to reuse an arrow after you have shot a deer? I was just wondering. Shot a buck yesterday, had a pass through and the arrow looks good. Just afraid of shooting it and it busting and going through my hand.

I check my arrows after I shoot a deer. If it is good I definitely reuse it. One time over a two year period I shot 10 deer with one arrow before it finally broke. I was sad to retire that arrow.

i have killed bunches of deer with the same arrow. Im assuming your shooting carbon arrows. as long as it is straight and looks good, let it eat!

I agree with the two previous posters, if it looks good, throw it again!

If you are at all unsure about it, use it as a squirrel arrow! thats what I do!

started with a dozen arrows a few years ago, same broadheads too...down to my last 3..give em a bend and listen fer popping(carbon)..or cracking, look for frays, maybe a split...aluminum ..roll em on a flat surface and look fer wobble...i know a guy shoots wobly arrows just fine, so far...but not fer me.

Just check it over, if you're shooting carbons look it up and down and flex it good with your hands in a quiet room. Listen or feel for creaks, pops, anything but smooth flex...if it passes that you'll be A-OK to shoot it!

When I shot aluminum...I believe I shot 8 or 9 with the same arrow/broadhead combo...LOL That said, I used to shoot Bear Razorheads, and you couldn't hurt those with a hammer. Just run a file over them until sharp and shoot again. LOL

With carbons, if you get a clean pass through they are fine almost every time.

If you are shooting carbons, take a cotton ball and run it up and down all over the arrow. If the cotton snags on anything on the arrow, don't shoot it. The cotton will catch on any splits or defects.

Schu that sounds like an excellent tip. Never though of that. But also would recommend flexiing too.
