Justthrowit, welcome to the other side. You kind of captured what it feels like to be on that first hunt, keep up the good work and good luck.

Justthrowit, when I meet people like you used to be, I refer to them as having " the block" ...its like holding your hand in front of your face so you cant get poked in the eyes. Once that block is moved, you are allowed to feel things you never thought possible.

The funny thing is that I was never an anti-hunter, or even looked down on it. I' ve always loved the outdoors, but I just was' nt exposed to hunting at all. I think Mossy Oak' s Slogan sums it up sooooo well. It' s not a passion, it' s an OBSESSION. How True is that!!!!

Well in no particular order I will try.
Communing with God.
Drinking in Gods creations.
Escaping from the distractions of life.
Carrying on a family tradition.
Teaching a family traditon.
Becoming one with nature.
The adreneline rush.
The joy.
The peace.
The sadness of the kill and the joy.
Sunrise, sunset, moonrise & moonset.
The snap of a twig.
The sound of geese.
A doe bleat.
A buck grunt.
The graceful walk of a deer.
All the wildlife.
I have not stratched the surface, but those are some of the highlights.

man i love to just get out in the woods...especially in the cold frigid post season when no one else even thinks of going out into the cold... seeing the sun come up on that clear crisp morning... and the worries all drain away... then u get the adrenaline rush when even the smallest of deer comes into sight... and almost fall out of youur stand when the monster steps outta the trees...whoo needs society when god gave you the deer woods!!

This will be my fourth season bow hunting. I originally started because my two younger brothers wanted me to go with them and I thought it would be a nice bonding experience. WOW!!! Was I surprised? My brothers and I are closer than ever. I took my daughter with me early in the season last year and got my first deer with her next to me in the tree (SHE WAS NINE YEARS OLD). Now she can' t wait until October 1st!!!

Hunting is what completes me! It' s a major piece in the complex puzzle that is me!

Me without hunting is like an engine without gasoline!
