Default The Ultimate Topo/Photo Site Ever!

This site is the best I’ve seen. I read about it in the latest issue of Whitetail Hunting Strategies Magizine. We have seen good sites go “pay per view.” And the price of them are as High as 400.00 per year.[:@] Well the Mag listed a few sites to check out as I did. I liked www.mytopo.com and www.mapcard.com

Mapcard is by far the coolest aerial photo map site I’ve seen. The quality of pictures compared to Terrafly.com is less great but the options mapcard gives are sweet. Also you can’t “fly” like terrafly. You can grid off a piece of land though and it tells you how many acres you’ve closed in. You can also wave point to or more spots to get the distance. You can imagine how great these two tools are for a hunter. There is much more this site does and I’ll learn it eventually. I just started using it today and I can say it’s great enough that I wanted to share it to all you people. The bad news: It’s not free! The good news: You get a 24hr free trial and if you like it you can order it per year for something like 30 bucks a year! Considering the price of others, that' s a deal! I tried to print some maps on the trial and you get a big fat “SAMPLE” across the print. Figures! It says that if you’re a member you get “better quality photos and endless downloads” (compared to the sample photos.) Anyway check it out and let me know what you think. If you’re using a better site fill me in. I plan on forking over 30 beans for it. Give me your insight. Take care all!

mfapquest maps are old. I looked up my property and it has not looked as the map has shown it for many years.

I' d agree with the mapcard, I have a $14/year subscription and love it. You can customize the map with GPS coordinates, take measurements, put in text, draw, etc, and print and save the map. You can also have them print and laminate it for a decent price.

I bought a mapcard last summer and agree that it is one awesome tool in my arsenal. The area I hunt is big and deep. I have found some minor inconsitencies vs what I found when I checked the areas first hand, although I don' t know how old the aerials are, and wish I did...regardless, it still shows funnels etc. I paid $13 last year at a Fleet&Farm store in Wi. It' s good for one year and I will probably will get a new one this year.

I' VE USED MYTOPO.COM TO CREATE CUSTOM TOPO AND ARIAL MAPS FOR MY PROPERTY AND I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE OUT COME. THERE A VERY EASY SITE TO USE NO STRINGS ATTACHED AND THE QUALITY WAS VERY GOOD. I' M GOING TO TRY THE OTHER ONE LATER IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE ARE MORE OPTIONS.
