Is there any reason I would rather have a 70lb verses a 60lb bow? I mainly hunt whitetail in Indiana, but may get a chance to hunt moose or elk or bear. Is the a poundage issue in other states?
I just bought the LX last night and went with the shop owners opinion and got the 50 to 60lb bow. 325grn arrow, 28" draw,55lbs, @ 296fps. The speed is there.
The shop said they would exchange it within a reasonable time if I decided that I needed the extra piundage.
Need advice quickly. Thanks.....

The most important reason is - is it comfortable for you. 60lbs has plenty of power - more than enough. If you can shoot it better than a 70 then it is a much better choice for you.

Like Radk-attack said. If 60 is tha max you can draw and shoot comfortably then 60 is what you should shoot. It' s plenty of enough power for elk and moose.
It' s all about what is comfortable to you. I shoot 70 because it' s comfortable to me but if I could shoot 100 with the same ease that I can 70 then I would.
Colorado requires a minimum of 35# so I think you are safe with 60#. Don' t over do it and cause your accuracy and shoulders to suffer later.

I have a PSE Nova set to 65lbs which I am comfee whith. 70 felt to much of a strain.
The PSE is shooting 260fps @65lbs 28 1/2draw and 75% relief. loaded
The LX is shooting 276fps @55lbs 28" draw and 80% relief. with nothing but a sting loop. By the time I add my kisser and TT and maybe leeches, I' m only going to be about 10fps difference. I could set it to 60lbs and pick up some. But then why don' t I just get the 60 to 70lb instead?
First I wanted, then I got, now I wonder?

Note to my first comment: (325grn arrow, 28" draw,55lbs, @ 296fps) that was on his chrono, but when I shot it through mine (which is new) it only went 276fps. Could there really be 20fps difference? or maybe he has set hi up faster? Same arrows by the way?

" Shoot the heaviest draw weight that you can draw comfortably , easily, and in awkward positions" Any more than that and you could be in for a big dissapointment in the field.
Shot placement kills.........sure speed and power HELP don' t get me wrong, but i' d rather get shot at buy a guy struggling and shaking over his 70# bow than an icy cool customer with a 55# bow holding rock steady.
As far as the speeds you are getting?..........uh I' d have to say his chrono is a bit spicy. Yours sounds more like real numbers to me. Remember IBO speeds are based on a 30" /70# bow........any deviation on the downside of this is gonna start costing you speed. 50grs over IBO legal arrow weight at 55# draw weight, and 28" draw for that bow I doubt is adding up to near 300fps. Sorry[:' (]
