That deer has a pretty tall rack drhunter! Is that the first time he' s been seen??
I' ll bet if someone doesnt get on him this year, he' ll be a giant next year!
I' d like to see a side view to really size him up.
KJr----Thats just the way I like ' em........BROADSIDE!!!

Hey Antlergetter.
That is the first time ever seeing that buck, but last year during February I was shed hunting close to where he lives and found some HUGE rubs. He tore a set of 3 cedar trees to nothin so I' m sure its the same deer......so hopefully I' m gettin closer since hes moving during daylight hours in this picture anyway. Give me a guess on what you think he will score by the time he is done growing. He has 6 on the left and 5 on the right, but it seems to me that he is a young deer, but I can' t tell for sure.

drhunter,
Id say he' s definately a young deer but Im not really much on guessing score....I got 2 scores, one that goes on the wall...and one that goes in the freezer only!
If youve found his rubs from last year thats definately good. Alot lot of times I find the biguns tearing up some of the same trees every year. If it were me I' d find a nice little spot on a secondary trail that backs off away from that sign just alittle and set up a stand. But do it early before the bucks get settled into thier fall patterns. Good Luck!

I had mentioned earlier that the SIUC Biologist doing a deer study in the area had found one side of the massive whitetail in the picture. Well I was mistaken they had found both sides and closer to my house then first thought. Here are the pics I just took of the set that they brought by to show me. I added a 12 inch ruler for a little scale. Enjoy!! I know what I am hunting after this year.
