Default How do I hunt it?

I have been bowhunting for many more years than I care to mention but I have to admit I'm stumped. It's hard to describe but I have a piece of land where 4 trails are wore slick but it is on the steep side of a hill. Anywhere I hang a stand will be skylined. I can move my stand 40-50 yards to get in a great tree but only be on 1 trail.
The lay of the land is such that if the wind is right for one stand it will be for the other also. Only place for a ground blind is slap in the middle of one of the trails. There are rubs everywhere and I can smell scrapes myself at the intersections. I have one tree that might work but I'm gonna have to be 30 feet plus!! Never hunted that high but looks like I'm going to this season. Anyone have any other ideas?

I know it sounds crazy! It might just be a fluke but you could honestly smell pee. My son was with me scouting and he could smell it also. Who knows? I have never found a scrape in my area before mid-November but I think they might be marking teritory or something. Have a few small bucks on cam and tons of does. Going to be interesting to say the least!

Might want to consider useing natural plants around you and make a couple of make shift ground blinds . And when you are setting up a tree stand try to find some smaller trees by some big trees . This will give extra cover . Good luck

I agree.. I think you could set up a ground blind. Just clear a small spot just big enough for the blind. Clear some shooting lanes. All that natural cover will help you. But I think you need to be getting your blind set up very soon. I don't know when your season starts, but I would get the blinds made or set up at least 2 or 3 weeks before the season starts so the deer will be use to it and wont be spooked by it once the season starts. Once they see that its not a threat, they wont be so nervous around it.

I wish I could describe it better but the only place for a ground blind would be on top of the trails. Everything else is almost a cliff face. I'm talking billy goat steep here! I'll try to get some pics next time I'm in there. Like I said, I've hunted alot of places and alot of years but this one is a tough one to patern the way I want it.

Is the property you hunt one big slope? Sounds to me like you need to be at one end or the other. Also where are the majority of these feeding from or going to? Sounds to me you possibly need to look for a better funnel spot, or even have multiple blinds set-up...but it is hard to tell without a map or photos...
