65% is a little low and for $400 bucks, you might as well get a new bow. Of course, it also depends on how good of shape the bow is in. If it works great and looks great and you want to buy it, than go for it.

Mathews cam is 70% let off (65% measured AMO). The straightline Maxcam on the MQ-1 is a smooth drawing cam.My MQ-1 at 30" draw was a pleasure to draw and felt like a higher let off than 70% . I never liked the 80% straightline cam.....they have a harder draw cycle than the 70%.

I loved my MQ-1 and my new LX is the only bow so far that I' ve liked better. I would buy a used one, even if it was an older model, if it was in good condition. But I' m skeptical about purchasing stuff that I can' t actually take a look at .[>:]

To be honest , if Mathews would have come out with a MQ-1 in Realtree Xtra and with string surpressors I would have had an extremely hard time deciding between it and the LX this year.

I told him i didin' t want the bow. I' m gettin a new one, 2002 model. it will be a 28 1/2" draw, 70 lb limbs, and 80% letoff, for $128 more than the 98 model. it' s worth it to me.
now I got a new bow with a lifetime warrenty. somethin I wouldn' t have had with the other bow.

Congrat' s ! The MQ-1 is hard to beat. I liked mine too much to get rid of it so I bumped it down to 60#, set it up for my dad & now he has it . That way I can always get it it back..........if he' ll let me !!

The bow your getting bogobble is exactly like my bro' s. Its one of the sweetest shooting bows you will shoot. I can' t believe that Mathews Discontinued this model. I havent shot and other Of the Mathews except the SQ2,FX, and Feathermax. I like the MQ1 by far. I guess that could be why he is keeping it instead of selling it. He likes it quiet a bit to. As long as you arent in it for speed you will love it. Its a shooter! Absolutely shock-free.
