Lightest pull weight for deer hunting?

All I know for sure is 30# pounds will get the job done. Watched my 12 year old brother shoot his first buck this year at that poundage. He hit alittle foward into the shoulder at about 18 yards and it went through into oposite shoulder. After waiting a few hours we had good blood and recovered deer. It was awesome!!! Sharp broadheads are a must.
