Well guys I got you all beat, it is July 12 for me here in California. My heart is in PA though for archery. Unfortunately the USMC brings me to Ca, but I will still be bowhunting here just a little bit earlier. No big deal I will be back in PA next bow season for my EAS is up and my active duty ends. HOOO RAHHH.

We went from Nov. 1st to Oct 1st a couple years ago

I don' t want then to change it into September, to hot, to many ticks.

It' s always Sept. 1st in WA for deer and elk, but they move elk to Sept. 8 this year through 2005. I think it might be better for the rut.

I' m so glad alot of the Jersey boys are scared of little bugs, thats more deer for me. Now nobody go and spoil it by telling them that they make tic and chigger suits to protect them that are light weight. I' m a fair weather hunter and love the opening day tan.[8D]

just to let you know i own rhyno skin and it feels like nothing more than panty hose. although it seems to work its quite a ritual to shed them off in the field cause you dont want the critters in you vehicle. you also have to wash your outside garments because those chiggers get immbedded in the outer cloths.when you have a couple hundred invested in good scent loc leafy camo you dont wanna be washing them all the time.dont like to use the spray on poisons so early season is not for me but i do try to get out and scout a bit.end of september is just fine.
