Thats why scouting and cameras are key to figuring out whats around so you can hold out far what might possible be around and give you a shot some day. Gotta do your homework, and let lil ones walk, if ya wanna kill the big ones. Hopefully he makes it till next year for ya. WCL

I have two cameras out all summer. Im out there scouting as much as I can and atleast 75% of the bucks I see during the deer season (mainly around the rut) I have never seen during the summer and early season. I think hunting next to 700+ acres of public prarie land and hunting a mile away from a public lake that has a bunch of thick timber land and has never been hunted, might have to do with not seeing them in the early season.

dont pass on a buck in early season that you would shoot the last day of the season.
