Do I do something about this guy?

So, I have a guy here at college who hangs out with the same group of friends as me. He is kinda my friend, maybe a "I'll call him last" kind of friend. Well, we were at the bar last night talking about the buck I shot, and he starts bringing up how he and his family use crossbows. I asked him how he got to use it since in Wisconsin, only disabled hunters are allowed to use crossbows. He said, "I like killing things with a trigger, its the only way to do it!". He doesn't shoot out of season (to my knowledge), but it he is still breaking the rules/law.
What is everyone's take on this? I think he's an idiot for doing it and I wish he would get busted.

If he's hunting public land, he'll get caught soon enough. If he's hunting private land, who knows.
I don't know if I would snitch on the guy. Unless he p!ssed me off
You'd have to have a game warden be able to catch him in the act. Tough to do unless you could call in with his exact location while hunting and the warden drop everything and respond right away.
Hopefully he gets caught on his own.

I don't think turning him in would do any good at this point, they wouldn't be able to prove it. They would have to catch him in the act. You said, as far as you know, he isn't shooting anything out of season, but, does he have tags for everything he is shooting??? I guess all you can do, is tell him how wrong he is being. But with you too not being close friends, he would give two chits about what you say. I guess you would need to know if he has tags for everything, and go from there.
I'm sure he is doing this on his own private property, and that would make it even harder to bust him in the act. Good luck.....

This isn't a huge deal as some states allow crossbow use but since WI does not allow it, unless you have a disabled or elderly permit for it, the law is the law and is still illegal. An anonomis tip to the warden would be the best suggestion in this case. Since it sounds like the whole family does it I'm sure the warden would love to make a couple stake outs and have a look see on their property after he watches them go out hunting some day. I'd hurry though as gun season is almost here. He seems to have no regard for the law so he would not be my friend and I'd be giving the dnr a tip. 1800-TIP-WDNR. WCL

They do the same thing in MD. All they do is get a note from a doctor telling them they need too and they are covered.
I almost got offended when I went to a orthopedic surgion due to my tore rotator cuff and he smiled real big, thinking he was doing me this big favor asking me if I wanted a crossbow note. I snapped back, "why would I want that????". He said most hunters coming in wants the note.
