I really don't know if there is anything that you can do. I believe that one of the other guys is messing with you, maybe upset because you killed a buck, maybe trying to get you to pick up and move on and have the ground to himself. Either way, he is acting very childish.

If you get the land owner involved, everyone involved risks losing out and it is the wrong time of the year to be losing ground. I really don't think it would be all that helpful to talk to the other hunters, if he acting this childish I don't think you can reason with a man like that and all you really are doing is letting him know it bothers you (he wins).

My best advise would be to deal with the little problems, let it roll off your back. Next year either think about hunting this farm with a climbing stand, as one other poster mentioned, or looking for different ground in the off-season if it is that big of an issue.

Sorry that you are having to deal with this stuff! Show him by shooting an even bigger buck! Good luck!

We know that some of the other guys don't really like us there. We think it's cause we shoot more deer than them. This spot we hunt has tons of deer and if you can't take at least 2 does and a buck, your doing something wrong. Just hunting that stand I could have killed like 20 deer so far this year. Some being fawns, or little bucks, but still that's a good bit of deer. I don't know why they don't like us cause we haven't done anything to them. When we run into them we say hey, how's it going and all that good stuff. It just goes to prove that we're better hunters and they don't like it. So, they're trying to run us out but that isn't going to happen. Now if this keeps up, and we catch who's doing it. Then we'll talk to the land owner and say we know who's doing this and we don't want a problen, can you handle this? I'm sure the guy will, he told us he doesn't want any problems, and if you catch a person who's doing something to talk to him about it. Anyway, it's about that time that all us bowhunters like, and I'm done talking about this lol. I'm just worried about hunting the rut right now. Good luck to all you guys out there, and thanks for caring and some of you guys that know what we're going through right now; thanks for caring.

I did this once, used my climber to place a camera a few trees away level with my ladder stand. Didn't get the culprit on film (animal or man) but gave me some piece of mind.

If I am hunting land with other guys that allowed to hunt but I don't know them real well, I usually won't share my successes to avoid this. Fortunately this was long ago, now I have some exclusive property we hunt and only with guys we trust.

hide a trail cam somewhere ( if posible ) Facing your stand and see what you get and there's your answer

Hate to hear that about that part of Ohio. Things sure have changed over there with all the development. The dnr might be able to help, doubtfull but if these guys are doing this it's a good bet they will be hunting illegaly. Might just tick them off more.

Sounds like you need to catch them and put a stop to it. Sounds like the spot is as good as lost anyways. Catch them and prosecute. If they do something that could result in your harm that's a serious offense. Got a catch them. I used to tie thread across trails to see what kind of deer came through, low on the trail and high, only bucks would break the high ones. Might be able to adapt something like that to follow them in and out. If they come from another stand, find that owner.

Go with out a cushion for starters.

How is it these guys know what you shot? That's another problem right there. Perfect way to lose a spot. Story as old as Hezikiah who showed others his trophys. They returned and took them.

Just pick up a cushion and add velcro strips to it. That way when your done for the time being you can take it out with you.. It might seam like a big pain but you will have a peace of mind and know they can not bother it this time..
