because a mounted deer should be a trophy, i didnt saw let it go to waste, meat is meat, but claiming it as your own trophy is sad.

I have mounted LOTS of road kill for people... Matter of fact, had a bobcat brought in yesterday. too each his own.

Most of the hunters on this forum will never kill a buck that big. To have him mounted as a conversation piece is a good idea. It's not like the only thing you can have mounted is animals you have killed. If someone wanted to give me say, a wolf or a mountain lion, i would have it mounted or atleast rugged out.

He never said he was going to "claim" it as his own trophy, the guy got a dandy of a road kill, if he wants to mount it, whatever, it'll sure look good on the wall.

I dont suppose you would have had the Missouri Monarch mounted either, I mean really he was just found dead
