If your trying to compare what those does were doing to a mature buck, forget it. Like you said you didnt see any mature bucks. Whitetails are naturally spookier than mule deer. Try to put a trail camera out and get mature buck on it once or try to call one in. If you can get a whitetail close to your treestand its in trouble. When your stalking a Mature muley you need to get close without noise or being scented and if you manage to do that you still need to try to get a clean shot without spooking him out of the country. If you dont get it perfect the first time, Good luck EVER seing him again.
