Fingers or Release?
Who shoots with fingers and who shoots with a release and what bow do you shoot?
I' m currently shooting a Parker with a release but i' ve been toying with the ideal of buying a longer ata bow with wheels and trying fingers.

I shoot a release on a High Country Split One X1. Even though I shoot a release I still prefer a long ATA bow with a high brace height (anything 7" +). I figure the more forgiving the bow is I can help eliminate some minor flaws at inopportune times, while hunting.

I shoot a release and a BT Tech29. I really enjoy shooting this bow. The short ATA doesn' t bother me because of my figure. However, I don' t think I would shoot finger with this bow.

Bowtech BK II with a scott mongoose
Kota Kill Em recurve with fingers
Last summer before I got the Bowtech I was shooting a Golden Eagle pro revolution with fingers, I think it was 42 inches ATA. This BK II is my first bow I have shot a release on.

RE: Fingers or Release?
I shoot a 15 year old Proline bow with fingers.
But I have change with the times and get a new bow and start shooting with a release.
The problem is I keep shooting deer with this old bow and these old fingers.
This is the year I upgrade. But Iv' e been saying that for about seven years now.
The bottom line is confidence if your accurate with what your comfortable with
stick with it.
Or atleast until it' s outdated.
A release might be a must if you shoot a new short bow.

im not a whiz when it comes to this kinda of stuff but i think it is necessary now days b/c of brace height and the speed cams.. makes more of a margin for error if using fingers.. just my 2cents

RE: Fingers or Release?
I USE TO USE FINGERS WITH A PSE POLARIS AND THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER CHANGE MY STYLE. THEN I DECIDED TO BUY A NEW BOW , AND I DID PLENTY OF RESEARCH. AMONGST ALL THIS I VIEWED ARTICLES ON FINGERS V. RELEASE. AFTER VIEWING THESE I TRIED A RELEASE WITH MY OLD BOW TO TRY TO GET THE HANG OF IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I NOW SHOOT WITH A RELEASE AID AND HAVE IMPROVED MY ACCURACY. ANOTHER DISADVANTAGE TO FINGERS IS WITH ME I PULLED MUSCLES IN MY FOREARM BECAUSE OF HIGH POUNDAGE AND THE TENSION OF MY FINGERS.
