The arc concept isn't applicable for flat land bowhunting. Even if you are 30 ft up, a standard rangefinder will only be off a yard or two max. ARC, which compensates for the angle of the trajectory to get its true horizontal distance perpendicular to the force of gravity, is only applicable when you are hunting in the mountains where you may be shooting down a 45 degree angle which will have a huge affect on your shot. If you aren't going to be hunting in the mountains and want a rangefinder for bowhunting, nikon offers a great product at a great price.

Unless you have disposible cash, just get a plan and simple rangefinder. The arc and all that aren't needed. I have the cheapest bushnell and it works. Look though it, hit the button and it tells me how far away an object is. Nice and easy, just the way I like it!

ARC is nice but in most circumstances you do not need it to get an accurate measurement. Using your regular rangefinder just range a tree at the same height as you are sitting (this assumes the tree is relatively straight) in your treestand and you will have the correct measurement at ground level.
