"I" am going to stay away from this head for a few reasons.I highly doubt it's penetration ability out of a low energy bow.It is a large cut head which is strike 1 but what makes me more nervous is the point comes back and when it stops moving BACK that energy has to be transmitted somewhere and imo,is moving backward through the shaft, strike 2 and strike 3 FOR ME is the large ferrule which on a bone hit out of a low energy setup like mine,it is going to stop. So imo, anyone using low energy bows, think twice and atleast do some testing before taking it to the field.

Lots of energy needed, but devastating out of an "adequate" setup.

It didn't show it in the video but I doubt that he reached the heart and instead cut the artery in the leg.
I believe that if he had been using a broadhead with out that huge ferrel then the arrow would have burried in the off side shoulder after penetrating both lungs and/or heart.
Awesome video though. It is amazing that that eland could loose that much blood and still remain concious.

That almost looks fake there is so much blood coming out of there. Amazing.
I would agree that if you shoot a low energy set up this would not be the head for you. However, I would say that about almost all expandables out of a low energy set up. With most modern set ups shooting 60 lb. draws and above I think you would be fine.

Im leaning towards luck as well. Artery shot for sure, may have nicked the top of the heart. What i find telling about this shot/broadhead is that the only bone of any mass in that region is the leg bone. The shoulder sits way up high on those animals...penetration was pathetic imo due to the bludgeon size ferrel.

I am going to disagree with this statement. You can shoot 60# at 26" draw and not have near enough to use this head imo.
To be honest, this head looks like a 70 ft/lb ke head or more.Atleast to me.
The shot was perfect according to this diagram and he still had very little penetration and you know he had alot of ke being in Africa.
However, there is alot of bone in that area and even a rib is going to cause serious penetration issues.A little higher probably would have been better.

I have to point out that after second look,it seems the penetration was better than I initially thought.I still stick with my opinion that a higher ke will be needed for this head.
