We don' t have enough critters around here to worry about being bit by one. In early season and during crop damage(summer) I wear those camo scent lok sneakers in Cabelas for about $39. If there' s dew, rain or the grass is wet I put on some goretex socks. As it gets colder I just throw on a pair of rockies unless it' s really raining and I' ll put on some Burleys.

I just bought the Rocky Sneaker......They are like the Cabela' s sneaker on steroids
....I was impressed with them....They seem very stout considering they are a sneaker....Don' t worry about the tread....there seems to be plenty of grip there.......I took them out 2 days ago in the morning grass w/ LOTS of dew and had dry feet.......Seem like they are the real deal....so far......

For deer hunting I wear the Lacrosse burley for scent control. If you dont want an all rubber boot it is hard to beat the Cabelas gore-tex trail light hiker. Very tough, 100% waterproof, light, comfortable and has a great vibram sole. I use them for bird hunting and antelope hunting and am really impressed with them. Hard to beat for $90 IMO.

I piked up two pair of Cabellas scent control sneakers when they had a sale $15.00 a pair. If there heavy dew or it has just rained I' ll wear a pair of gortex socks. This set up is very comfortable for the early season.

For cold weather, Lacrosse burlys 800 thinsulate. Not a boot you want to walk in all day though. Comfy, but just really heavy to walk for long periods(for example a long track job I got stuck in, which turned into a long drag back to the truck) For warmer weather I have a really old pair of lacrosse rubber bottomed boots.

Lacross burly 800' rds here also. I' m good down to about 35 degrees. if it' s a little colder than that, I use the foot warmers. they really help. if it gets sho-nuf cold, I pull out my Hodgeman super temp kings.

Early part of the season I wear my Soloman gore-tex, hiking shoes. My buddies think im nuts but my feet have never been wet, they are lightweight, warm, and comfortable.
Later in the year I wear pack boots.
