arrows arrived, what glue
#1
Ok guys, I just got my arrows from the guy on ebay i told you about (m & cj archery). He did a good job on the fletching, there are no loose vanes anywhere. I would have liked a little more helical but that was my fault cause I didn' t tell him how many degrees I wanted them. Any way he did a good job and will buy from him again.
On to my question. I had him leave the inserts out so I could make sure they go in straight. What glue do you guys reccomend to hold them in the shaft?

If your arrows are aluminum I would just use ferr-l-tite hot melt to put inserts in with, its easy and hard to beat. If they are carbon the best that I have found that is easy to remove tips is 5 min epoxy. You can heat the tip and pull them out if you need to. If you don' t ever think that you will need to remove them, just put a little AAE fastset gel glue on them.

For aluminums I like hot melt glue, for carbons I use the 24 hour epoxy. I have heard that the goat tough and powerbond glues are very good, but I have not tried them yet. I may need to pick up a botttle and check them out though.

I always use a glue that lets me heat the end of the shaft and adjust the insert. Aluminum or carbon doesn' t matter, there are many good adhesives for both. Just remember if your going to practice with them and then put broadheads in to hunt with, you will want to be able to tune them. Myself I shoot bear lights and I want every broadhead straight up and down so they react the same each and every shot.
