RE: GMMAT or other NC hunters

My problem with prohibiting Sunday hunting is that it decreases kids' opportunities to hunt without missing school.

So how long does the bow season run in nc,the regulations were not very clear to me.As far as not being able to hunt on sundays seems a little silly to me,but hey I think I should be able to chose how I spend my time any day of the week.
It usually comes in on the 2nd Saturday of September and runs through January 1.

Central Deer Season
Bow and Arrow: Sept. 13 – Nov. 7
Muzzleloading: Nov. 8 – 14
Gun: Nov. 15 – Jan. 1

Northwestern Deer Season
Bow and Arrow: Sept. 13 – Nov. 14
Muzzleloading: Nov. 15 – 21
Gun: Nov. 22 – Dec. 20

Western Deer Season
Bow and Arrow: Sept. 8 – Oct. 4
and Oct. 13 – Nov. 22

Muzzleloading: Oct. 6 - 11
Gun: Nov. 24 – Dec. 13

Urban Season

Honestly, I don't think the NCBA had anything to do with it. Some of the laws like Sunday bowhunting got scrapped too. I heard Bev Perdue put it down. I would have liked the Sunday bowhunting to pass. All those adopted rules got tabled for review next year, that's what I was told by Fish and Game.

According to their website the NCBA has already taken responsibility for initiating action against allowing crossbows, and allowing muzzleloading to start a week earlier. They also state that they are going to remain neutral on Sunday hunting.

While I do not agree with shortening the bow season, and allowing the muzzleloading season to start a week earlier I do think that their reasoning for not wanting it is way off.
As a side note it appears that the NCBA, and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission have been feuding for a while now.

To be honest I am not sure why it was not suggested to allow the bow season to remain the same. We could always start the muzzloading week at its normal time, and let it continue a week longer. I think having a standard statewide hunting season would be helpful as well.

Either way it will go up before the Rules Review Commission, and be voted on for the next year.

[:@]Thanks NCBA or whoever did it, I just lost one valuable hunting day for sure. I dont care to much about the Crossbow law, although I see your point about the misconceptions on accuracy and range of them. The ending of bow season one week early and starting muzzeloader early is crazy. Lets take away a week from the guys with a four week exclusive season, but still allow the gun season to go on for 2 1/2 months. :eek:I love our states wildlife commission [:'(]
