My dad started me...but from there, I was pretty much self taught, him and my uncle were mainly gun hunters,
with very little bow experience...
my hunting for the last 30 years has mostly been centered around the bow.

Myself and a good friend taught ourselves and had a darn good time doing it. We shot alot, laughed alot, and sweat alot. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

My Grandpa and my Dad instilled a love of the outdoors in me from as far back as I can remember. I grew up listening to their stories of deer that got away and floatin' around farm ponds and stripmine lakeschasing largemouth bass here in West-Central Illinois. Even though my Dad had never bowhunted, he did everything to support me when I decided, at the age of 12, that I wanted to try it.He always seen that I had the finest equipment and some of the most knowledgable folks to help me. Thanks Dad!

My father got me started fishing and hunting and taught me the basics.... I had a good two good friends growing up that I spent almost all summer with when I was about 13 and 14... They had bow's so when I turned 15 and got my first "real paycheck" I went to a pawn shop and bought an old PSE... It had a huge overdraw on it and I shot those tiny Beman carbon arrows... Kinda taught myself since then, learning everything I could from all different types of sources.

Everything i know about hunting and much of everything else i learned from my dad. The only thing we couldnt teach me was bow hunting, he cant pull a bow back due to his double spinal injury so i taught myself on the old York bow he gave me.
