Keep in mind that the weight rating when it comes to "tested" for more than a thousand pounds means 1000 pounds dead weight, not live, moving weight. When a stand is rated at 300 pounds and you weigh over 250, go to a higher rated stand, again these ratings are not always consistent but are guidelines, just because they may hold 300 pounds does not mean they have been intended to be maxed.

Look at the Chippewa Wedge-Loc treestands. Get the phone number off the website and call the guy who builds them (he and his wife own the co.) and asked him any questions you might have. They are not cheap, but they are very solid and well made. I own the lighter models, but I know 'The Brute' has a 400 lb. wgt limit and I think they have one with a bit higher limit.
