Coon scent...I use it on my boots every time I go afield.
Coons are just about everywhere I hunt so it' s a common scent to the prey Im after. Coons move around on the ground and climb/spend time in trees so that' s natural also.
I try to remain as scent free as possible but I know I can' t. Therefore after I exit my vehicle and have all my stuff on, I walk several yards from my vehicle and spray coon scent on my boot soles and up the sides a bit. I may be wrong but I figure by the time the coon scent wears off my boots so will any other foreign scent that was on the boots, Im now scent free or at least part of the scent from the area.

Ok, I hand my stand prior to hunting season so i dont have that extra 15 lbs. to carry in.

Heres my " usual" list of items:

My bow (Or rifle depending on the season)
Compass
Water-proof matches
Buck Knife
Pocket Knife
Rubber Gloves
Grunt tube, Rattlin' Antlers
Racoon Urine
Rope
Flashlight
Extra Batteries
License and Tags (Duh )
Wool Gloves
Canteen
Folding Saw
Binoculars
Doe Scent
Mock Scrape Scent
Pack food of some sort (Energy food)
Face Mask

Thats pretty much all I can think of right now...

I pretty much go in as lite as possible! My stand, bow, knife, calls, flashlight and leatherman and maybe a few snacks depending how long i' ll be in the treetops! Some of you guys sure do make a production out of it! I tend to hunt 4 times a week and if I had to carry all that stuff in the woods everytime I hunted, forget about it![:-] I need a fix!
