when do you know you have to replace the string on your bow?

I change mine at least every 2 years. If I keep a bow that longA lot depends on how much you shoot and how well you maintain your string.

Quality of the string you started with will also have a bearing on when it needs replaced.

Better too soon than too Late. I have seen strings fail with No warning signs.
